Under the mistletoe...v u v

My christmas present for my mother! A napping mother with her pup rest beneath the trees. Mistletoe hangs above them, and the pup licks her mother affectionately. Contentment is for sharing each other's company.

I love you, momma. <3

Merry Christmas everyone, and Happy Holidays! C:

Drawn with pen and prismacolor markers.

This looks very nice! I'm actually getting a bit of a stained-glass look from it, somehow. Also, it looks so warm and not snowy there. It makes me want to go off into the woods with my dogs, but right now that would just be miserable...

Just to throw out a little piece of critique, the fur should probably be finer on the snout and cheeks than the rest of the body. It tends to be less prone to clumping than the rest of the fur in every dog I've met.

Thanks! Yes, snow makes everything more difficult hehe. >w< I love the woods regardless though.

Yeah that's very true! But as I learned with skyfall, if I detail every fine fur on the muzzle it makes it look darker than the rest of the fur. I believe there's a way to detail fur on the muzzle without making it seem too detailed, but I haven't really explored it and I went with the easier option for this one since I didn't want to experiment too much and end up messing it up.

You've improved, I can see the amount of effort you've put in this and you've used some really nice techniques with the fur and background!

Thank you very much! :D I wanted it to be very detailed for her and she loved it so owo Trying to pull everything I've learned into one coherent style can be difficult, but I'm getting there!

It's okay. (: I'm glad she liked it! I know what you mean, I'm trying to do the same, haha. It's not very easy, but the more you practise you'll get there eventually.
